Leveling

When a player levels, he may replace all of his NPC levels with class levels of the classes discovered or gain an additional level of commoner.  Only class levels gain feats.

When he is to gain a feat, he must do so from the available feats.

Each level, players may gain 1 ability score they may place in any ability score.  Players do not gain the bonus ability score every 4 levels.  At 1st level, players gain 4 ability points to distribute.

After the highest level player levels, the group may perform a War Action.

They select one of the war actions available to them through an NPC.  A unit combat will take place based on that one action These war actions will involve the indicated unit accompanied by other PC units (ran by a subcommander if the pcs are out adventuring).

Simultaneously, the NPCs may launch a war action on the players remaining forces.  These two battles will go on simultaneously on separate battle fields.

Afterward, the players army consumes their rations.  If there is not enough food and supplies, the players units suffer morale penalties until the next level. The players must pay in goods and food a total of 20% of their wealth value.
