Neth 23 - Neth 27
The party had another town meeting, choosing to decline the Molthune defensive strategy and any new initiatives.
They met a new ally looking for adventure in Aleta, a traveler who could provide skills badly needed by the mayor. They went to Larck immediately that they had wasted three to four days on the plague. Things wer in disarray in the town. The soldiers had taken it upon themselve to police while the town elders held themselves up. The black mist had been mutated by the green, which ha ssomething to do with the Sihdron. Instead of just dying they turn into mindless plant creatures. It was also discovered the the elders, captain and head priest had been paid off by Spriggens to sell the green in town. And a mysterious man gave Aleta the heads up on the spriggins, only for him to disappear.  Mynthir nearly gave up on the party, upset with the near anhilation caused after some of the town citizens began to riot. He came back though, in time to interrogate one of the elders and force him to lead him into the sewers and show them their hideout. On the way the party fought two children of sihidron, plant creatures with a dangerous poison attack. Both Mynthir and Kaya felt a stinging from their Sihidron tatoos.
The party ventured into the sewers discovering an lab under the city that was known by the elders and the town sheriff. The party killed the spriggans who ran it, who told them that the green is a deriviative of a special liquid produced in the mountains and provided by the Cult of Sihdron. The party administered the cure and helped the town heal, then went into hte mountains to destroy the cult before they damaged any more cities. The cult was operating inside an old tomb of Desna. Unfortuantely, they set off several alarms and alerted the cult who had prepared for them. The cult leader nearly killed the entire party, reverting their metal items back to their natural form. If not for the last minute heroics of the party, they would never had won. They ventured to the pool of raw nature that was conjured by the brothers of the Shidron centuries ago. It was the chamber where they performed the ritual that gained them their powers. The party destroyed it and escaped, only to find wild beasts tied to the entrance, waiting on them.
Luther, Szu and Aleta fought and killed one of the beasts as the other one charged the part. Mynthir managed to soothe it after it lashed at Vors. While the beast was mesmerized by Mynthirs speaches, the party escaped down the mountain, the tomb collapsing on itself.
They returned to town and rested, however, not too long as Asburon, the father of Kyris, finally arived to bury his son. However, he found the hellknights in disarray and decided to step in while Entis is away. Disturbingly, he discovered his son's body was mising. He confided in Vors that Kyris was not his son, but the offspring of his wife and one of the Shidron Druids. 1000 years ago, and for some time after, his mother was a cultist and stood at the side of the brothers. She was close to one, and Kyris was consumated after hte druid had reached his full power. As with the druids, only the phoenix's fire can truly kill them. Else they can be burried and reborn throug ha ritual called the Regrowth. It is believed that the cult took Kyris's body for this purpose. When Asburon met Kyris's mom, Kyris was a full grown adult. He died in a land dispute with dwarves, and Kyris's mother convinced Asburon to help her with the Regrowth. It was then that Asburon told her never to return to those roots and the two of them raised kyris like he was there son. Unfortuantely , wneh the cult resurfaced, Asburon sent Kyris's mother away, to protect her, faking her death and sent Kyris away from the cultists that hunted his mother. Now he wishes to find his son's body before the cultists complete the ritual.
Vors promised to help and convinced the others to go into Nidal and find Dr. Blacklock. They decided to try Erburg, a city that contacted Kaya for help. |
