Adventures Legend VI: The Darkness
Adventurers Legend VI
Written by Administrator

Part 1:

The heroes of Sinji return to town. Old enemies try to regroup and new enemies lurk in the shadows.  The town finds itself in desperate need of some excitement after a rather boring two months.

The PCs go to bed at night and realize they are in a nightmare world cauesd by a demon posessing a little boy.  They travel around town, collecting Vistrana's body parts and spell ingredients to excorsise the demon and awake from their dream.  Eventually they encounter the demon and kill it, waking up from theri dream.

Part 2:

The other half of the party is in Poisson. Trying to build trade relations. The party travel to Poisson to see what they can do to establish trade relations.  The town is pretty empty. They stay at the Wooden Arrow Inn and gather information.  Most of the town's people work for Sionaas, a rich wizard who is constructing a tower near the Windswept Wall Mountains.  His Tower being called he Windswept Tower.

The Mayor, Beorn Lammond, is upset.  His town has no defenses and merchants and dock workers have closed shop to work for the tower.  Even little children are working the tower.  The party sums up the situation, and Ewan and Vors write up a contract that will best work for the town.  They present it to the mayor, whom is furious.  An accident brings the pcs to the site, where parts of the tower have collapsed, after rescuing people, Forman Geoff explains that the support and foundation were weekended.  Eventually Sionaas shows up and Kaya will have none of his words after he tries to hire the party thinking they are adventurers.  Vors offers to travel into the tunnels underneath the tower and find whatever caused the support to weaken.  Through Sionaas actions, the party believed him to be hiding something, as he seemed to purposely build his towers on what he said was an old tomb.  The party ventured down and found a family of Kynites, the other plane lizard creatures the encountered when the PCs first traveledto Senji, nesting in a tunnel.  They vanquished the creature, despite Luther's want to keep one as a pet.   The party found themselves unable to venture past the wards of the other tunnels further into the dungeon. They also found traces that whatever built the tunnels were heavily into slavery.

The party went back to the surface and attempted to confront Sionaas with a zone of truth, but he easily walked out of the zone and refused to be questioned. Luther and Kaya walked away, wanting nothing to do with the confrontation.  Eventualy tempers settled and over a drink, Sionaas explained that he was looking for something underneath and wanted the party to leave him alone.  He confirmed he had nothing to do with the Sihdron.

The party drank through the night and celebrated, the trade deal done and no more investigation was to take place, even though Luther had learned a secret that the mayor may have caused the tower accident.  While celebrating at the inn, an strange whisper was heard aroundthe table, urging the players to travel up stairs.  While up there, a elven woman asked them to come in through their room.

Her name was Merita, and she was the Right Hand of the Crucible. The Crucible was an order of elves who had the power to destroy cursed and flawed objects. Merita collects those objects, sometimes from the Order of the gate, of which Asbjorn is now in charge of.  She contacted the PCs after hearing they were in the area.  She must track down a cursed gem, that required a bit of stealth to aquire, she asked thep arty to take her trunk of cursed objects to Shareth-En-La. A small elven enclove in NOrthern Nirmathas.  As she was explaining, a band of orcs poured into the room and were quckly dispersed.  Merita then asked them to hurry.  The party agreed, proving they were trustworthy. An arcane lock was placed on the trunk to keep it safe.

Cirren -

Trouble has always followed Cirren, but usually it's a vengeful family member or a former captive.  A demon attack on his second day in town was not something he expected, however, he sees now exactly why Asbjorn is looking for assistance.

In Between:  Cirren needs answers, and will be conferring with Asbjorn and other townspeople to figure out what has happened.  Specifically, he will study the ley lines in and near Senji and try to see what is attracting so many powerful beings, both good and evil.

Keith -

The dream encounter was not something I would want to do again w/o some changes.

The Good: DM description led to an overall tone that we were traveling through a nightmare - the way the city reformed, the way citizens were unclear blobs, the mostly unfair encounters we were faced with; lots of puzzles; overarcing Harrow card/vision puzzle was a good concept, if not perfectly executed; difficulty was high; gross pictures were funny; I will never look at Doyle the same again.

The Bad: Too many saves, esp when traveling during the second phase; the dream confusion stuff was more frustrating than atmospheric, spec. during combat i felt like i was playing a game with bad controls;  I will never look at Doyle the same again.

Overall:  I have never had a real fight in a dream, my dreams are never static enough to maintain a fight sequence.  If we were to return to the dream world, tactical combat should be thrown out the window in favor of either a cinematic style combat or some other method of conflict resolution.  Traditional structured combat was unnecessary and even confusing, considering the overall theme of a chaotic dream world.

How did Aoukar feel about the Adventure?

Aoukar is not pleased.  His dreams are bad enough without some dream demon going crazy with them.

How did Joshua feel about the adventure?

I liked it allot.  Already more fun than last years halloween arc.

Objectives

Right now Aoukars greatest concern is getting out of the dreamscape and taking care of this demon.  He is already displeased with how much attention this situation has brought on him.

1st Adventure Log: Ewen

How did your character feel about the last adventure?
Well, overall I think we did good here.  The damnable fae are a bunch of useless twits, but if the dice fall in our favor I doubt we'll be seein much o them.  I'm not sure who this Blacklock and Ling folk are, but everyone seems incredibly relieved that we got rid of em.  They seemed like a nasty vicious lot anyway, so good riddance I say.  I'm rightly lookin forward to seein me Uncle Cid again, and spendin some time with the geeza, I'm sure we'll have alot to talk about, considering all the crazy things I've seen these past few.

As far as ol Asby goes, I'll consider this debt paid, but in the last two weeks I've potentially made discoveries that will advance my own research, in fact the entire world of Golarion, nearly a hundred years.  As well, me work always needs "field testin".  I think I've rightly earned a bit of relaxation, but we'll see what tomorrow brings, eh?

How did you feel about the last adventure?
As usual, the fae are a vexing lot, moreso as my character is apparently anathema to them.  I am glad we got rid of some nasty villains and maybe have a little room to breath.  It is also a new year on Golarion, and I am looking forward to what that will bring.
What is the character's current objectives?
Ewen feels he has paid his debt to Asbjorn, but now that he has found where Cid is hiding out, will want to be spending some time with his father figure.  There are always new discoveries and people to help, but Ewen is not sure he can put his own work on hold forever.

Are there any sideadventures you want to explore?
From a party perspective,
- I think the soul orbs thing is dead, although apparently they are still relics of immense power.  That could be something to consider, because those still should not be in the wrong hands.  It also might lead us to more of The Black Banner and their druid artifacts.
- The vampiric Triune are still at large, and noone really knows what their goals are.  We still need 20000 beating hearts over Senji, as danger yet looms from the ancient druid brothers.
- We still have a large list of persons requesting diplomatic relations, and may want to consider making some allies before the Nidal army is able to reform under the renewed leadership of the triune

Personally,
- Ewen is still keeping an eye out for his father who has been missing nearly 20 years.
- Ewen has discovered a chemical process by which he can increase the mental capacities of a human being, and has adapted it to his own physical makeup.  To improve the efficacy of this, he requires some extremely rare components, which may be dangerous to acquire.

How did Vors feel about the Adventure?

Vors feels a bit of weight lifted from his shoulders.  The group has thwarted the Sihdrons plans and saved Kyris in a manner of speaking.  Ling is dead and a large threat to Golarion has been hindered.

How did Joshua feel about the adventure?

I had an awesome time.  This in my mind was a very entertaining adventure arc not just last session, but the whole arc.  There has been allot of comed allot of drama and plenty of adventure.  We have finally taken care of some of our biggest threats.

Objectives

Vors knows that just cause we have put a dent in the plans of the Sihdron that this is by no means over.  He especially does not trust Nidal with their desire to use the Reborn Kyris has some sort of tool.  It will be interesting to see what is in store with the flash back of what happened after the battle.  I have a feeling we are gonna get screwed and Nidal will have taken custody of Kyris despite how it would go down if we had played it out.  I also can't wait to see how this multiple characters thing goes.

How did you feel about the adventure?

It was a great session. It finally felt like months of preparations culminated in two big battles and it went like I thought it would. We were outmatched, but the pcs helped us. It was great seeing Luther and Kaya come back to help the party. If the dm is thinking about players handling multiple characters I would be in favor of that idea.

How did the character feel about the adventure?

This is what Su lives for! She got to fight evil, she got to kill people and stuff and it was all for a good cause. The team worked together and it would seem that we won, which only makes her happy to have helped Asbjorn.

What are character's goals?

Su wnts to kill the rest of these cultists. At the moment it seem insurmountable given that we're pretty beat up after fighting the lings and the dragons, but they've been fighting too, so that might even the battlefield a little. Then she wants to return the baby to Asbjorn.
